It's almost holidays!

Dear Parents, Friends and Families,

Well here we are, we have made it to Week 10 of Term 3 and what an awesome term we have had. The best thing being all the amazing learning that has taken place throughout the term across all Stages. I am sure that this week you will enjoy visiting your child’s learning space during their ‘Celebrations of Learning’: Wednesday 20th is Stage 3; Thursday 21st is Stage 2 and Friday 22nd is ES1 & Stage 1; all starting at 9am until 10am. We would love for you to join your child/ren to celebrate in prayer and then participate in the learning!

Here are some important notices for your information and your consideration:

  • Year 6 Graduation Mass: This year we are going to trial having an End of Year combined Year 6 Graduation Mass, during the day on Wednesday the 13th of December, Week 10 Term 4 at 9am. The idea of combining the two Masses is so that we can not only celebrate the End of the Year as a community, but so that we can together celebrate the wonderful achievements and contributions our Year 6 students have made to our community. After this Mass we will invite Year 6 students and their families to a special morning tea, put on by the Year 5 parents and students as per tradition. We hope that this is another beautiful way we can celebrate as a whole community.

  • Closing of the Second Hand Uniform Shop: After much thought and consideration, we have decided to close down the formal functioning of the Second Hand Uniform Shop, due to lack of use by the community and complications with the new finance system we will be undertaking next year. We will retain the uniforms that have been donated and we will continue to accept donations of uniforms, but we will not be charging families who need items of clothing from this resource. Thanks go to all the parent volunteers who have made this a possibility over the years. If you are in need of second hand uniforms, please see the ladies in the office.

  • Playground Update: A massive thank you must go to all the parents that have helped with the playground throughout this term during multiple working bees. Progress is steady and the retaining walls are looking very professional. We will continue working next term and hopefully get the first section finished and have the kids testing it out before the end of the year.

  • Are you planning a move in 2018: Just a reminder that if you are not returning to Our Lady of the Nativity in 2018, we need notification before the end of this week, as we require 10 weeks notice. There is also a new form that you must complete, which is sent into CEDP to confirm your plans to leave. See either Helen or Toni for a copy of this form if needed!

Finally, I thank you all for the support you have given the staff and I at OLN over this last term, this partnership certainly helps to make this community strong. It is in working together, that we can make the largest difference for our children by creating a supportive, challenging and loving environment, that celebrates and delights in their growth. I pray that you all have any enjoyable break, making the most of every minute spent with your beautiful children. I look forward to hearing their stories next term!

Let us always remember the ‘light’ we are and can be to others and appreciate the ‘light’ others are to us.

Thank you all again for everything you give to our community every day!

With sunshine,

Lisa Samojlowicz

Principal
