A busy three weeks ahead!

Dear Parents, Friends and Families,

What a couple of weeks we have just had and now there is a mere three weeks to go!

At this crazy time of the year, I want to stop, acknowledge and thank all the staff for the time, thought and effort they have put into our student Semester 2 reports. It is quite clear when reading these reports, just how well our teachers know your children, their strengths and their areas of need. We are endeavouring to have Semester 2 Reports ready to go home by the end of Week 9. If you need extra copies of these reports, please let your child’s teacher or the office know asap.

This is always a satisfying part of the year for us as teachers because we get to sit back and reflect on the growth of our students and it also gets us thinking about our next steps and our plans for the next year. You received notification of next years staffing and you would have noticed that there is very little change to this year. If you have any questions or concerns about next year for your child, please speak with your child’s teacher before the year is out. We thank Angela Bentley for all that she has given to our community over this past term and a half and the way that she selflessly gives of herself to ensure the growth of each and every child and teacher she works with. Angela has been outstanding in her role and she will be missed by the entire community. We welcome back Colleen Bourke who returns to her role at OLN, after some time helping out St Thomas of Aquinas.

Thank you to the entire community,l for the wonderful way you all embraced our Belfanti Breakfast last Friday. It was brilliant to meet David’s father John and to see our community come together to remember and build on the legacy of David. As I shared with the community on Friday at the conclusion of the breakfast, this community is a special place to belong and I thank God constantly for allowing me to be a part of it and I can’t wait to continue this journey with you all in 2018!

Take care of each other at this busy time of the year and remember we are in this together! My door is ALWAYS open, even if it’s closed (that’s just me keeping the warm air in!) so feel free to catch me in the playground or see the ladies in the office to find a time to come and sit with me.

Let us always remember the ‘light’ we are and can be to others and appreciate the ‘light’ others are to us.

Thank you all again for everything you give to our community every day!

With sunshine,

Lisa Samojlowicz
