We have had lots of fun coding in our Kindergarten and Stage 1 lessons during Library time. The students are learning that coding is following a sequence of steps (algorithms) to solve a problem. This learning is aimed at developing problem solving skills and logical thinking.
We have been coding ozobots. They are miniature robots. Ozobot reads coloured line code Red, Blue, Green and Black. We are at the exploration stage and students are learning that an ozobot only reads a certain line thickness etc by trial and error.
Ask your children about their learning and you will be amazed by all the innovate concepts in robotics.
