OLN students K-6 take part in formal Religious Education based on a new Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta curriculum that is relevant to our students and to the world they live in.
We provide opportunities for students to connect with the Catholic faith and traditions in a meaningful way. Based on contemporary research, the new approach to Religious Education across the diocese is focused on addressing questions students have about their faith and life. The syllabus provides learning sequences which engage the children through inquiry to develop their knowledge, skills, values and faith. We incorporate aspects of our Catholic tradition into our teaching.Learn More About Religious Education Social Justice in Catholic Schools
Liturgies, prayer celebrations and special feasts are an important part of school life at Our Lady of the Nativity. Our liturgical celebrations are open to our whole community and we take advantage of our church, hall and beautiful school surroundings for these celebrations.
We work in partnership with the Parish, involving classes from the school in the Sunday children’s Mass. The Sacramental program is parish-based with the appropriate Religious Education units being taught in support of the program.
